        The Florida Park Service has as its primary  responsibility the delivery of resource-based outdoor recreation  opportunities for the millions of people who visit the state parks, recreation areas, and special feature sites  which make up  Florida's  diverse  state park system.  Along  with its  mission as an  outdoor recreation provider comes the charge to protect those natural and cultural  resources upon  which the resource-based  recreation  opportunities are occuring, and which are indeed  dependent upon if Florida's  state parks are to  provide a quality recreational experience for each state park visitor. It is because of this unwavering committment to protecting the natural and cultural resource base, while  always  striving to  provide  quality  recreational  opportunities, that the Florida Park Service can and does legitimately refer to its state parks as


" THE REAL FLORIDA"
